Schools may be back in session in September, but that doesn’t mean that festival season is over.

If you’re spending time at the Regency Suites Hotel, whether for business or pleasure, you should know that there are always fun activities and festivals in Calgary if you’re looking for a little excitement.

Here are 3 festivals to look forward to in Calgary this September:

1. BBQ on the Bow Festival

When: September 2 - 3, 2017

Where: Montgomery Community Centre

This annual culinary festival proudly features Canada’s oldest sanctioned BBQ competition.

It is a family-friendly, free event that aims to bring fun to the city and help improve the quality of life. Some other events that take place over the weekend include live music and cooking demos.

2. Honens Festival 2017

When: September 7 - 10, 2017

Where: Various locations

Honens is an annual festival that spans across four days and will be extra special this year in honor of Canada’s 150th anniversary.

Classical music lovers can look forward to various events including performances from Canadian classical music stars and Honens Laureates.

3. Kiwanis Apple Festival

When: September 23 - 24, 2017

Where: Kamp Kiwanis

If you love apples, you’re going to love this festival.

This year marks the third annual Kiwanis Apple Festival, a free festival full of apple-related activities like baking with apples, apple archery, and apple arts and crafts. There are also other attractions like live entertainment and a farmer’s market.
